Ken Ham: Atheists are Afraid of Creationism

Ken Ham argued on his Facebook post last 24th of February that atheists are trying to indoctrinate children against religions by teaching them science at school.

"Christians are happy to teach children regarding various views of origins, but atheists want children taught naturalism to the exclusion of all others. Atheists are so insecure they don’t want anyone seeing nativity scenes, crosses, etc. as they don’t want people to think for themselves. My children know more about evolution than most evolutionists — we’re not afraid to teach them about how to understand different views. Atheists are afraid to let people be taught to think critically about origins, as people would then understand evolution’s a religion. They can’t have their belief critically analyzed so they legislate to protect it in public schools."

As an answer to his accusation, this is untrue. First of all, every religion have their own interpretation of the Bible. So the question will now arise of which interpretation to use. Also, what we teach in schools should be factual especially when it's about our reason for existence. Creationism have no solid foundation and no evidences to support their claim.

It is also untrue that atheists do not want anyone to see religious relics, We do not care if a lot of people wear crosses or robes in the street. They can even place those displays in front of their own houses. But we just can't allow them to place it in schools since it will be an endorsement of their religion. How would you like it if a monument of Satan will be placed in schools, too. So to be fair, no religious relics should be displayed at all.

Atheists are thinkers. We definitely would want people to think critically about origins. And science have been under scrutiny and analysis for years. If these children will find a fault in the theory then it will be a great thing to happen. And just like any other scientific idea, it will be studied over and over again. I think Ken Ham forgot that atheists became atheists because we're critical thinkers.

This is a bold statement from Mr. Ham and I hope, he can back this up. I would like to hear what his children knows about evolution.
