MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday promised to pardon police officers who would be convicted in the performance of their duties, more than a week after several Leyte cops surrendered over the death of a former town mayor while in government custody.

On Saturday, the leader of the fundamentalist Islamic group  Hizb ut-Tahrir made a confronting declaration : All Muslim apostates should be executed. 

I was browsing youtube to find interesting videos when I saw this. I was just amazed how open minded these three people are. They respected each other's gender, they smoked weed together and they discussed their beliefs respectfully. If only all of religious leaders are this open, we don't have to keep on arguing. 

After setting aside the issue for several months, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte finally revealed his stance on same sex marriage : a big NO ! 

Manila, Phillippines  -  House Speaker   Pantaleon Alvarez suggested that it's now high time that church-run schools should be taxed.

Yesterday, we celebrated women's day. I know it's quite late but I would still like to greet all the women of the world a belated "Happy Women's Day". Did you have fun? I just hope you did. This is a worldwide event that celebrates women's achievements. And of course, this day once again reminds the world to fight for women's rights.

Manila, Philippines The Philippine Drug War is getting more exciting. This Sunday, PNP Chief Director Ronald de la Rosa invited church leaders to join the operation Tokhang. That just means that the police force will be accompanied by the church leaders or representatives while making rounds on the houses of the suspected drug users or pushers.

Ako to be honest, nagbinut'an ko kay hadlok ko gabaan. So ikaw unsa man?" (Why do you do good things if you don't believe in God? To be honest, I'm being good because I'm afraid to be punished for misdeeds. So how about you?)

Memories. There are several things in life that whatever we do, we just can't forget. Things that gave a very big impact and shaped our view of the world. Some may be bad, some are good. We experience these things in different ways. It could be your most embarrassing moment, or the day you won an award, or maybe ... your first love. And where else could we find the greatest mine of memories but our high school life. But this movie, is far too different than the normal high school life story we encounter in the silver screen.

Ken Ham argued on his Facebook post last 24th of February that atheists are trying to indoctrinate children against religions by teaching them science at school.  

Abortion. This is currently one of the most debated topic. This is even considered in some of the laws that are being legislated in the senate. This topic can be linked to life, morality, child rights, civil rights and many more other topics. When I asked this questions, I received mixed responses but all are eager to share their ideas. 

Senator Manny Pacquiao did it again. He quoted another bible verse during one of the senate meetings and started preaching about morality. We understand that he is a Christian and he have his faith but I personally think that the senate is the right place to preach. Personal beliefs and practices should be confined in the walls of his home and in his church. Most business establishments or companies even have a rule about topics that are considered as NOT SAFE FOR WORK and religion is one of them. 

What is atheism for you? Each of us may have a different answers to this question. We may have different reasons, beliefs and practices. The idea of atheism is very broad and the definition varies from person to person. What makes it worse is that even among our group we still have some sort of differences. We agree on certain terms according to what's convenient for us and what we consider as moral. But, even our morality is being questioned. Religious groups think they monopolize morality itself. And we still even have several arguments internally within our group about it. We all agree just on a singe thing; there is no definite proof of any god.

..... a story from  " discreet" I never knew that I would end up to where I am right now. My family is somehow what you can call religious. Everything we do is for the glory of god, so they say. I used to agree with this and I followed blindly to the whims and lessons I am being thought of. In a place where doubt and questions are unacceptable, all you have to do is to be silent and listen. That's why they are called servants. And I used to be one of them until I started asking questions.  Growing-up Religious My mother is a church servant. Being humble, compassionate, understanding, and being patient  are among so many things she thought us. For that, I am very thankful. She also thought us to pray, to do the rosary, to sing songs from the Church and to respect the priests and religious leaders of the church. They are god's representation in this world after all.
